Methodology
The Canadian Cost-of-Living Index aggregates Lowvyn's per-category price indices across every tracked vertical. Totals and real-deal share are plain sums across verticals. Movement is a value-weighted basket change: the sum of every tracked product's current price versus the sum of its oldest price in the last 90 days. This mirrors how a price index is built (total basket value, not an average of per-item percentages), so a few cheap items with large swings cannot distort it, and no editorial spending weights are assumed. Each vertical links to its full index.
