The Lowvyn App Is Now on iPhone and Android
The Lowvyn app is live on the App Store and Google Play. Scan a barcode in a store, check any Canadian price, set price drop alerts, and track products across five retailers. Free to use.

Today Lowvyn is available as an app on the App Store and Google Play. It is free, it works across the Canadian stores you already shop at, and it is built for the moments when you are actually deciding whether to buy something.
Why we built it
When we started Lowvyn, the browser extension and the website already did a lot. If you shop on a laptop, the extension shows you the deal score right on the product page, and the website lets you check any link you paste in. That works well when you are sitting at a desk.
But most shopping does not happen at a desk. It happens on your phone on the couch at night, and it happens while you are standing in a store holding the thing you might buy. The extension does not run on phone browsers, and opening the website, copying a link, and pasting it back is a lot of steps when you are in a checkout line. There was a real gap between where Lowvyn was useful and where people actually make the decision to buy.
The app closes that gap.
The gap it fills
The biggest thing the app adds is the ability to check a price in the store, before you pay. You can scan the barcode on the shelf or the box and see the price history right away. So when a sign says "sale," you can tell in a few seconds whether it is a genuine low or just the normal price with a sticker on it. You get the answer while you can still put the item back.
It also means Lowvyn is finally where your shopping already lives, on your phone, without needing a laptop open.
How to use it
-
Search or paste a link. Type a product name, or paste a link from Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Canadian Tire, or Canada Computers. Lowvyn shows you the full price history and a score.
-
Scan a barcode in a store. Point your camera at the barcode. Lowvyn pulls up the price history so you can see if the shelf price is a real deal.
-
Read the score, not the sale sign. Every product gets a LowvynScore from 0 to 100, based on its own price history. A high score means the price is genuinely low right now. A low score means it is around normal, or higher than usual.
-
Set a target and get told when it drops. If the price is not right yet, set the price you want to pay. Lowvyn watches it and sends you a notification when it gets there.
-
Keep a list. Track the products you are thinking about so you can come back to them later. Sign in and your list stays in sync across your phone and the website.
